Okay, so I know my BFF, i am elle, wrote a post about her gift dilemma a couple of months ago... but I'm having the same problem!
Me and my boyfriend have decided not to give each other materialistic gifts this year. Last Valentine's Day, I gave him a $50 gas gift card (which he really loved) and he got me a bluetooth (which definitely helped me because I like to talk on the phone when I'm on the road). But this year, I wanted to do something sentimental and romantic because I feel like we buy each other whatever's convenient.
I want to get/make him something thoughtful. No cooking because we're going to eat a nice restaurant. No sex either because we live with our parents and we work during the week so we can't "go away." Ay yi yi. I don't know.
(I am excited about what we're gonna be doing though—we're going to a shooting range! I'm so excited because we're doing something fun & different! Yay!)
Anyway, any suggestions?

A shooting range? That is very different. Get some headphones
1for sure cause it is wicked loud there!
As for gifts, is he into music a lot? Maybe make him a mix cd
of songs that are special to you both and then write why each
song means something to you.
Yeah, he's a DJ. He's actually making a Valentine's Day mix. So, that's out of the question. Haha. This is hard!
Everyone thinks we're weird because we're going to a shooting range, but I've always wanted to do it, so he's all for it! Haha.
2Well dang! He took my idea and I knew he was a DJ, duh on my part there!
3Shooting ranges can be fun and a bit scary too! Take something for a headache
later!
What other things is he into? Hobbies, sports, movies?
Scrapbook!!
4Yeah, I always carry Motrin, so I'm good.
He's into football, but I know diddly squat about it.
Haha. I don't even know what his
favorite team is. Sad! Haha.
5I was thinking about a scrapbook, but I don't know if he'd really appreciate it. Hmmm.
6I am an old married lady so we just do cards and some candy! lol
7Oh pish posh! Haha.
8Just have sex at the shooting range.
HAHAH.
9HAHAHAH!
10You know me, I'm a nympho.
11Mm-hmm. I don't know if I would the guts to do that. =P
12I know this sounds unoriginal but did you ever give him a treat in a spa? It still is "material" (because you need to spend) but just an idea.

13Not sure if this will help or not since you and your BF have been together for awhile, but I wrote something about this on my blog not too long ago: http://www.datingtales.net/2007/11/gifts-for-your-new-boyfriend/
14OMG!! I'm in the same boat and I have no idea what to do! I think I will be making him dinner, but other than that I haven't a clue. Plus we've only been together for 2 months now so I don't want to over do it...what about a journal or a framed picture of you? Or a simple love letter...
15I feel you on that one! The BF and I always give each other "practical" gifts. I kind of lust for something more.. romantical and movie-ish! How about...buying some lingerie and wrapping it up and giving it to him and telling him it's for LATER...
when you guys are free!
16Last year I bought my husband a gift certificate for a one hour massage. He was skeptical but I knew he was super stressed and after much discussion he got the massage. When I picked him afterward he was so relaxed and sleepy eyed...he was adorable!
