our one year anniversary is coming up and i'm still not sure as to what to get him--i've thought about getting him a watch but don't know much about them....anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

Well, you don't necessarily need to know about watches to get him one, although it would make it difficult to get a nice one, probably.
If he has to write a lot or has an office, why not a pen and pen holder with his name engraved in it?
What's he into? What are his hobbies and interests? A gift based off of that would also be great.
Finally, since it's your one-year anniversary, maybe a little treat to a spa together. Or perhaps a framed photo of you two?

1He's into MMA (mixed martial arts),football, and cooking. A watch is something he probably wouldn't get for himself...we've done the pictures, baskets, cds, cards, flowers,etc. Which makes this is harder than I thought!
2Always everyone think of giving an watch when it comes to guys. I dont prefer that, rather than watch you can give him good shirt or nice pen or some music cards which he likes most.
